I was asked to come up with an identity for MakerClub’s digital workshops that run throughout the summer. Part of the brief was to make it colourful, fun and eye catching. It also had to be in keeping with the existing logo / identity. I facilitated an ‘ideas meeting’ with the team while rapidly sketching out our ideas and discussing the merits and failings of each one.
We settled on one idea of an iconic rocket lolly with an overlay of circuitry graphics. The two elements combine to represent summer and technology. The typography is inspired by Mechano and is also similar to the existing MakerClub M to help link the two visuals. The individual elements of the type can be used to make icons or repeating patterns which can be used in other promotional material to help keep the continuity and strengthen the visual identity.

“We found Jack to be adaptable, friendly and most important of all, quick to understand our business. His design work was outstanding and he really felt part of the team. We wouldn’t hesitate recommending him to anyone else.”
